Applications are now open for the 2024 Mississauga—Lakeshore Constituency Youth Council! The Constituency Youth Council (CYC) is a non-partisan volunteer opportunity that allows youth to have their voice heard on important issues Canadians are facing, learn about Canada’s political process, and engage with the community.
What is a Constituency Youth Council?
A Constituency Youth Council is a youth-led group committed to making a positive change in their community. It’s a great way to meet new people, collaborate on events and projects relevant to your interests, and share your thoughts with your MP! Charles will take what he hears and bring it back to Ottawa to help inform policy-making.
When does the program take place?
The Constituency Youth Council will meet once a month at time decided on by members. There will also be additional volunteer opportunities and CYC-led initiatives that members are free to participate in.
What does a Constituency Youth Council do?
Past councils have tackled important issues such as climate change, gender equality, and youth employment. Projects undertaken by past Constituency Youth Councils have ranged from food drives to job fairs to virtual town halls.
Who can join the Constituency Youth Council?
Anyone aged 14-25 and living in Mississauga—Lakeshore can apply! Applications can be submitted via the form below or via this link.
